Back before Google!
I first started using the internet back in the late 90s before Google existed, which seems hard to believe today.
2010 – ITIL Foundation certificate in IT Service Management
2010 – Expert Rating certification in Search Engine Optimisation
2006 – Internet Marketing
Somewhere around 2006 I discovered affiliate marketing. From there I became more familiar with all sorts of aspects of internet marketing like search engine optimisation, search engine marketing, social media, direct response copywriting and email marketing.
2003 – Social Media
A friend introduced me to Myspace before it became the largest social networking site in the world a couple of years later. Understanding how to promote your band through Myspace and social networking became the miracle online saviour independent artists needed.
1997 – HTML and Websites
Somewhere in the late 90s I learnt how to make websites with HTML because my band at the time needed one and we weren’t going to pay a web designer a hefty amount to create one.
Music background
I’ve had some pretty cool experiences thanks to my musical interests. Highlights include performing in front of 40,000 people in a double platinum selling band, hosting a music television show and doing the occasional radio DJ stint.

2010 – current: Static Era
2003 – current: Redline
Formed the rock band Redline and co-produced our self-funded 2007 record. Highlights include a national NZ stadium tour with American rock groups Disturbed, P.O.D. and Alter Bridge in 2008 and several London shows in 2009.

2005 – 2008: Alt TV and Rockzilla
Hosted an hour long music show on Alt TV called Rockzilla. I basically ran the entire the show and did everything including producing it, running the website, organising sponsorships and programming the schedule.
During this period I also occasionally filled in as a DJ on Kiwi FM.

1999 – 2003: Tadpole
Performed in a rock group called Tadpole. Wrote a double platinum selling album, performed at several Big Day Out festivals, toured all over NZ and got flown to East Timor in a Hercules to perform for the Kiwi troops based there.
